Today is the day of my Sunday Special Post. Every Sunday, I will be posting about my favourite anime or manga series. So, stay tuned for more updates!

What is an anime?

To be frank, anime can be another name for cartoons, but it is way more different than Peppa Pig or Ben 10. Another thing with anime is, that once you start watching it, it becomes more and more interesting and you can't stop. There are some people who hear the word 'anime' and start saying that it's for kids and not for grown ups. I feel like KILLING THEM. Anime is for anyone who can understand it, and believe me, even grown ups are crazy about it.

FAIRY TAIL

Written by the renowned manga artist Hiro Mashima, Fairy Tail is one of the top best anime series ever made. It's better than anything you've ever seen, and if you don't believe me, then see it for yourself! There are a total of 254 episodes and 2 movies, the second movie, 'Dragon Cry' aired on 3rd May, 2017. 

What is so special about it?

All anime have their share of action and comedy, which Fairy Tail excels in. But, the fact that makes it different from other anime is that, in this series, each and every character has it's own special story.

There are some scenes in Fairy Tail that really make you cry.

                                                                           Fairy Tail Guild Master

The Story Synopsis

According to the story, in our world, people who have magical powers, mages (short for magicians)

exist. When a mage comes of age, then he or she starts to train themselves and try to join a mage guild. A mage guild is a group of strong mages which are commanded by the guild  master. It is the duty of a mage belonging to a guild to help the common townspeople with their powers and complete their requests for rewards. In the land of Fiore, the strongest mage guild, Fairy Tail is the bestest of guilds. the only problem is, that Fairy Tail is a bit too strong for people to handle, and that's where problems from rival guilds arise. The story starts with Lucy Heatfilia, a 17 year old girl who is a celestial spirit mage (all mages have different types of magic) who collects the twelve zodiac keys and other spirit keys to communicate and ally with them for a future fight. Lucy hopes of joining the Fairy Tail guild and becoming the master of all the twelve spirits of the zodiac. On the way, she meets Natsu Dragneel, a fire dragon slayer and the only dragon slayer in Fairy Tail at that time. Together, along with Gray Fullbuster, an ice wizard and Erza Scarlet, the Titania (strongest woman in Fairy Tail and the only person Natsu is scared of) they start their adventures, or should I say......misadventures, 'cause wherever the mages of Fairy Tail go, they are sure to wreck havoc.

Character Synopsis

Lucy Heartfilia

        The story of Fairy Tail is shown from Lucy's perspective. A 17 year old cheerful protagonist with her head in the clouds is the only thing we need to complete the set of a completely crazy bunch of characters in Fairy Tail. Lucy's mother, Laila Heartfilia died when she was young. A young Lucy was left living with her rich father, who was a workaholic and rarely paid attention to his daughter. After her mother's death, Lucy inherited two celestial zodiac spirits from her mother (who was a celestial spirit mage herself) who were Cancer and Aquarius. When Lucy became old enough, her father decided to get her married so that he could expand his business. Since Lucy did not agree with her father to the marriage, she ran away from home so she could join Fairy Tail.

Natsu Dragneel

Also known as Etherious Natsu Dragneel, Natsu is my most favourite character in Fairy Tail. He is the brother of Zeref, the dark mage. Natsu is the only person alive who can make Pink hair look badass! He's a Fire Dragon Slayor, taught by none other than  Igneel, the king of all Dragons. Even though he looks cool and cute, Natsu actually has a really sad past. It's a really twisted tale. 400 years ago, Natsu and his brother, Zeref lived happily together. During an earthquake once, Natsu and his whole family, except his brother Zeref, perished under the rubble. Somehow, Zeref dug out his brother's body, as well as those of his friends, Gajeel and Wendy. Since Zeref's speciality was death magic, he spent 400 years trying to resurrect Natsu and his friends by preserving their bodies in Lacrima. When Natsu was resurrected, Zeref left him under Igneel's care. Natsu trained hard with Igneel and loved him as well. But, as the tragedy goes, one day, Igneel left mysteriously without any traces of where he went. Brokenhearted, Natsu joined Fairy Tail and foud his new partner, a flying blue cat called Happy as well as a new family in the guild.His biggest rival is the ice wizard, Gray Fullbuster. Despite his cool personality, Natsu does have some cute points. For one, he hates travelling by cars, chariots, boats or anything that moves 'cause he gets motion sickness. Even though Natsu trains hard each day to become the strongest mage in Fairy Tail, he still awaits for the day when he'll be finally able to meet Igneel. 

Gray Fullbuster

 Gray Fullbuster is an Ice Wizard with a really emotional past. As a child, he used to live with his mother, Mica Fullbuster and father, Silver Fullbuster. He used to love his parents like anything. But, as tragedy struck, the fearsome monster, Deliora (one of Zeref's monsters) rampaged their town and killed everyone there. A young Gray was found half- dead in the cold by Ur, an ice mage and her pupil Lyon, who were trying to find someone who had survived the attack. Ur decided to take Gray, an orphan now, under her wing and teach him Ice Maker magic. Gray vowed to defeat and kill Deliora when he would be strong enough. Ur taught him how to train in the snow without any clothes. Since then, Gray has always had the habit of being reminded that he needed to wear clothes. Afterwards, Gray somehow came to know that Deliora was rampaging somewhere close by. Even after Ur tried to reason with him, he did not listen to her and decided that he was strong enough to defeat Deliora. As expected, Gray went down in no time, but, as Deliora was about to kill him too, Ur used an unforgivable on the monster, killing it and herself too. Since Lyon was unconscious at the time, Ur made Gray promise her that he would never tell Lyon that Ur was still alive in the form of the ice that Deliora was frozen in. Gray usually has a laid back attitude, but is always ready to fight Natsu, his archenemy. Later on, Gray becomes an Ice Devil Slayer when he inherits these powers from his father.

Erza Scarlet

 Erza Scarlet, also known as Titania - Queen of Fairies, is the strongest woman mage in Fairy Tail. There is no clue as to who her mother is. She uses requipping magic and has some pretty cool outfits. She tries to hide herself with her armour and is rarely seen behind it. As a child, she used to work as a slave with other orphan children. There, she met Jellal Fernandes, a cute orphan boy who wanted to escape from there. Unfortunately, they were caught and punished for trying to escape. Erza's right eye was blinded, while Jellal took the whole blame in order to save her. While Erza was trying to escape her cell to save him, the spirit of Zeref entered in Jellal's mind and took over his body, making him evil. When Erza finally defeated the guards outside, she reached inside Jellal's cell, only to find him planning to kill everyone. Erza tries to talk sense into him, but he tells her to run away and never come back. Erza fled and reached the guild of Fairy Tail. The guild master, Makarov, took her in and decided to get her eye treated. After the treatment, Erza was able to see again, but there was a slight complication with the operation, and she was told that she would never be able to cry from her right eye ever again. This did not discourage her at all, at first, she never talked to anyone in the guild, but later on, after meeting Natsu and Gray, she decided to form a team with them, later adding Lucy too.

Fairy Tail is an amazing world to get lost in. There are a thousand more characters, but we just hit the highlights or else we would have been here till the end of time itself. My advice is: Even if you're a grown up, don't miss anime AT ANY COST or you'll be sorry you missed such an amazing story:)
